Prometheus story

Prometheus was the titan of forethought who was entrusted with the task of moulding mankind out of clay. His attempts to better the lives of his creation brought him into direct conflict with Zeus. Firstly he tricked the gods out of the best portion of the sacrificial feast, acquiring the meat for the feasting of man. Then, when Zeus withheld fire, he stole it from olympus and delivered it to the humans. As punishment for these rebellious acts, Zeus ordered the creation of pandora to cheat mankind of the company of the good spirits. Prometheus meanwhile, was  chained to a mountain where an eagle was set to feed upon his ever-regenerating liver (or, some say, heart). Generations later the great hero Herakles came along and released the old Titan from his torture.

I found this book minorly disturbed me due to its sensitive subject topics and vulgar/vivid descriptions. It was easy to read but its corruptions of children's stories made it harder to read and almost unpleasant such as the rendition of red riding hood in which the granny turns out to be a werewolf and is stoned to death as a result of her secret.

I think it will be tough to read as it was written in the 1500s so will have awkward language.
Story sounds interesting due to quest for knowledge and power and the "immeasurably great cost" that comes with it.
I hope it lives up to my expectations
